Palworld Grand Release Tournament 1st & 2nd Place Locally

Palworld Grand Release Tournament 1st & 2nd Place Locally

Palworld TCG has officially released on July 30th 2026! I am glad I pre ordered at my local game store (LGS) 2 started decks of each color combo being green/purple & red/blue, along with 2 boxes for msrp! I also purchased an addiotional 2 boxes when I went to pickup my pre order on the day of.

When I got home I tore through all of my product and was surprised to find in total (I forgot I headed back and grabbed 5 more boxes and opened 3/5 of those so this is total: 7 booster boxes and 4 starter decks) :

2x Jormuntide - Surging Sea Serpent SP
Suzaku - Hellfire Wings SP
Jormuntide - Surging Sea Serpent OSR
Relaxaurus - Hungry Gunner OSR
2x Petalia - Sweet Blessings OSR
Digtoise - Seismic Drillback OSR
Helzephyr - Wings of the Moonless Night OSR
Victor &  Axel's Strategies OSR

After having such great hits I decided to put together a Red/Purple deck which futured a ton of removal via reds shotguns/rifles and axel + purple removal to kill units. The first grand release I went to I was on a roll and started off 4/0 going into the final 5th round of swiss it was me vs the last 4/0 player! I ended up not drawing well from my initial draws, so I decided to mulligan and still ended up with a pretty bad hand that did not have many plays for first 2 turns. I ended up losing this final game which felt like I didn't end up doing much till late game when I dropped a Jormuntide Ignus but on the very next turn the opponent dropped a Jormuntide Surging Sea and put mine to rest which basically made my units useless for the coming turns! After losing I headed out to another store which also had a grand release.

At the new grand release I was able to BARELY get lucky in round 3 against my buddy Devin and literally got lucky pals from being damage around ~5 times that game against him and just swung Jormuntide for the fences 3 times in a turn using his tap 3, and axel and beat him while he was at 8 health! Then onto playing the other top 3/0 player at this store, The game started out rough for me losing a lot of life from his 2 cost foxsparks unit for most of the game since I couldn't deal with it. Near end game though my opponent ended up not drawing his big units and I got a felbat on board and stole life ~3/4 seperate times to keep myself alive, along with tap 1 soul disruption cards like foxsparks and blazehowl to stop his attacks when I only had around ~4 health left I was able to pull the win and got the Lyleen mat along with ~80$ store credit!
